Past Experience

Broadcasting:

 

From 1980 to 1998, Duncan Watt worked for the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) and later the Television Corporation of Singapore (TCS) and the Radio Corporation of Singapore (RCS).

 

During this time, he appeared regularly on the main TV News Bulletins on Channel 5 and Channel 12.

 

He also read the Radio News and then joined NewsRadio 93.8 as a newsreader and presenter.

 

From 1980 to the 2004, Duncan Watt worked with the classical music radio channel, first Radio 5 and now Symphony 92FM as a presenter. He also produced, wrote and voiced a series of three-hour programmes on operas and operettas, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Sigmund Romberg’s The Student Prince, Noël Coward’s Bitter Sweet and the works of Ivor Novello.

 

While working for SBC/TCS, he also voiced a number of in-house documentaries, including a number of year-end roundups and the English version of the Japanese documentary, The Silk Road.

 

In 1995, together with, former Newscaster Diana Koh, he voiced a CD-Rom on the life of the former Prime Minister and former Minister Mentor, Lee Kuan Yew. The CD-Rom was produced by the Chinese Newspapers Division of Singapore Press Holdings and Sony Systems Design International Pte Ltd.

Aside from working with SBC/TCS, Duncan Watt has worked with a number of Production Houses in Singapore, including:

 

Comm2000 – TV cooking documentaries, sports and social videos for the Royal Family of Brunei.

 

IT21 – Education CD-ROMs for Singapore and Malaysia, and CD-ROMs connected with flight training for a major airline – Singapore Airlines.

 

Knowledge Village – Education CD-ROMs.

 

In-flight Productions – Writing the scripts and voicing classical music programmes for two major airlines – Garuda Indonesia and China Airlines. He worked for them for about 8 years.

 

RightAngle – A series of CD-ROMs for patients about to undergo surgery at a major hospital – Changi General.

 

VHQ – A promotional video for Lexus, among many other videos.

 

Fallon/CompanyX – The Classroom of the Future by Microsoft: a presentation and script-writing.

Visualise Media
– A promotional video for Mindef.

Red Light
– A number of corporate videos, including GIC Singapore, plus a number of characters in the DVD version of the cartoon – Zodiac.

MYX Studio
– Listening Comprehension Examinations for Christian Brothers Schools and St Joseph’s Institution.
